Beloved: Grace and Peace

Dearest and Beloved
A Confederacy of Fear
Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. What do we do when times are troublous? Isaiah lived when troublous times had come. In a few years (721 B.C.) Assyria carried away the Northern Kingdom. Assyria would trouble the Southern Kingdom as well. Isaiah 8 records God's words to Isaiah in that time.
Grace to you.
whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and
your fear, and
dread. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
As we live in troublous times, we should not walk in the way of the people, neither should we fear a confederacy (conspiracy). We should not be afraid of what other people fear. The people of God should sanctify the LORD of hosts and let Him be our fear and our dread. Then He will be for us a sanctuary.
But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy
and be not afraid of
their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and
ready always to
an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope
that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying, Say ye not, A confederacy, to all
