Beloved: Grace and Peace

A Testimony of God's Rest
Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I would like to simply share a testimony with you. One New Year's Eve I came home from work suffering from a headache and a stomachache. My family was to go to my wife's parents' house for New Year's Eve. I came home and lay down. I wasn't able to go. Nothing seemed to phase the headache or stomachache. I tried different things to stop the pain - to stop from hurting. Excedrin didn't work. A garlic poultice didn't work. Nothing was working. I couldn't lessen the hurts by eating, or drinking, or watching TV, or reading . . . . Nothing worked.
Finally, I stopped and began speaking with the Lord. I confessed my sins and told Him that He is faithful and just to forgive me and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I told Him that I had been trying to get my own needs met and agreed that that was sin. At the moment I spoke that, His peace quieted me, and His presence healed my stomach and my head. For the next hour and a half, I just rested in His presence and experienced His peace. It had been a long time. I guess I am just a God junkie. Some verses to leave you with:
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
"Be careful for nothing; but in ever thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee
mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over
sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).
Thank you, Lord. I rested in Your love with You.
Grace to you.
