Your Will or God's Will
Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah 14:13-14 records a report concerning Lucifer. "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."
Grace to you.
Do you notice all the "I will's"? James tells us:
on the morrow. For what
your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little
time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye
to say, If the Lord will, we shall
not, to him it is sin.
Whose will are we doing? Whom are we trying to please? "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
your reasonable service. And be not conformed to
this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what
that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:1-2).
Go to now, ye that say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what
live, and do this or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth
